May Installment of the Gather `Round the
Hearth' Spring Educational Series
“From Ear to There: Understanding Your Hearing Loss”
May 29th at 2pm
Discover new technologies for hearing loss and why hearing aids
aren’t always enough. Hearthstone Village invites you to join
audiologist Dr. David Powell, from The Center for Sight and
Hearing in Rockford, in discussing, how we hear, the difference
between hearing and listening, hearing solutions and the
information on the free ITAC amplified phone.
If you’ve ever had questions about why hearing aids aren’t
always enough, wondered why you can hear certain sounds and not
others, or wanted to know where to find help, resources, and
support groups this presentation is for you. The event takes
place Thursday, May 29th at 2:00pm at Hearthstone
Village. The public is invited and encouraged to join this
free, informative presentation. Pre-registration is not
required.

Hearthstone Village presents Of Furs & Traders Father's
Day Event

Hearthstone Village presents Of Furs & Traders: A
Father’s Day Event for Men of All Ages Thursday,
June 12th at 6pm. Meet André St. Pierre, 18th
century French-Indian fur trader, as portrayed by Andy
Talley, Education Program Coordinator with the McHenry
County Conservation District.
Learn about fur trade in this entertaining and
imaginative program as André presents an educational
look at the French fur traders and the native tribes
they lived and worked with. History has never been so
much fun. Afterwards stay for refreshments and good
conversation. The presentation will take place at
Hearthstone Village Senior Living Community, 840 North
Seminary, Woodstock. There is no charge for this event;
however, reservations are required. Please RSVP by June
2nd to Suzanne Kinsey at 815-321-4037.

People who are
grieving often ask themselves, “How long will my grief
last? How do I deal with overwhelming emotions? How
should I handle the big decisions that need to be made?”
These questions and more will be answered through weekly
discussion topics.

Hearthstone Barnabas Ministry
The Hearthstone Barnabas
Ministry has been developed to provide an opportunity
for alert elderly persons to develop a new relationship
with a volunteer who will visit with the Hearthstone
resident.
