Little Hands, Big Hearts Gala Event a Huge Success

The 4th annual Little Hands, Big Hearts gala benefiting Woodstock Early Learning Center was a huge success. More than 200 guests enjoyed a fine dinner, entertainment, silent auction, raffle and live auction, but the children stole the show.  Students from the Woodstock Early Learning Center recited Psalm 23 and sang two rousing songs.  It was a perfect visual reminder of why we were all there supporting the event.  It's all about providing tuition assistance for our student's families.

The event was held at Boulder Ridge Country Club in Lake In The Hills on April 5th, 2008. Guests came out in support of Woodstock Early Learning Center.

Many thanks to our guests, donors, volunteers and of course our sponsors:

Meeting Vanna makes 94-year-old man's wish come true

With a smile that exuded pure joy, Percy Swanson bragged to his friends.

"I had her right here!" he said, pointing to the inside of his arm.

Friday night -- as a surprise to Swanson -- the 94-year-old Woodstock resident got to meet, hug and briefly chat with his dream girl, "Wheel of Fortune" letter-turner Vanna White.

Slightly flustered by the surprise and the swarm of cameras that followed him onto the "Wheel of Fortune" set at Navy Pier, where they're taping 15 new shows this weekend, Swanson suddenly found himself face-to-face with the woman he religiously watches on television every weeknight.
