Prairie Homes Progress Continues - Information Center
is open
The
exterior walls and roof trusses are now in place on the first duplex
of the Prairie Homes of Hearthstone project An Information
Center will open on February 16 across from the duplex projects
in Hearthstone Village, 840 N. Seminary. Units will be occupied by
people 55 years of age and older creating a new community of older

Woodstock Senior Center at
Hearthstone
Hearthstone
has forged a new relationship with Senior Services
Associates, Inc. of McHenry County to offer a senior center
in Woodstock. Launched in December of last year, the new
senior center offers a place to gather, socialize and learn
about the programs and services available to older adults.
Activities are held on Thursdays in Hearthstone Village, 840
N. Seminary in Woodstock.

Smiths Provide Lead Gift for
remodeling of Medicare Unit

Janet and Stephen Smith have announced the awarding of a gift of
$183,332.73 to Hearthstone Communities to help fund the remodeling
of the Medicare Rehabilitation Unit at Hearthstone Manor. The
former Vice President of Senior Services at Hearthstone Communities,
Ms. Smith and her husband Stephen feel privileged to be able to
support the ministry of Hearthstone Communities in this very
tangible way. The project will be renamed the Mary and Carl Mueller
Rehabilitation Center in memory of Ms. Smith's parents.

Officials from Hearthstone Communities gathered
on Wednesday, November 17, to break ground for the new
Prairie Homes of Hearthstone, a neighborhood of
prairie-style duplex living units on the southeast corner of
Seminary and Christian Way. Units will be occupied by
people 55 years of age and older creating a new community of
older adults living independently. Convenient location,
numerous amenities and affordable pricing make this an
attractive option for seniors looking to downsize yet stay

New Flagpole and Veteran's Memorial Dedicated
On
Veterans Day, November 11, 2010, a new veterans memorial was
dedicated on the grounds of Hearthstone Communities in
Woodstock. Given in memory of Carl and Evelyn Boe, former
residents of Hearthstone Communities, the memorial
recognizes the men and women veterans who currently reside
at Hearthstone Communities or who have lived there in the
past. The memorial was made possible by the generous
contributions of the children of the Boes: Charles Boe,
Cathy Boe and Cindy Hegerman.
