TEDDY BEARS DONATED TO HEARTHSTONE mANOR
RESIDENTS FOR MOTHER'S DAY!
Hearthstone manor residents Bridget McIntyre and Gerda
Lippert with Phyllis Close of Bear Hugs of Chicagoland. Phyllis
donated teddy bears to every resident of Hearthstone Manor for
Mother's Day. She even brought bears for our male residents! Thanks
you, Phyllis!

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION LUNCHEON

Jim Bethke and Rick Madsen received
clocks to celebrate their 20 years of service at WCLS
WLCS Staff members reaching service milestones of 5, 10, 15, and 20 or
more years were recognized and honored at a luncheon at Hearthstone
Village. More than 20 honorees and their supervisors enjoyed salad,
chicken breast, wild rice, and vegetables. Dessert was a decadent
cheesecake. Staff members being honored at every level received a gift
of a stainless steel travel mug engraved with the WCLS logo and filled
with treats. Those reaching 20 years, Mary Berlin, Rick Madsen, and Jim
Bethke, were given commemorative clocks.

WELC RECEIVES GRANT
 
Woodstock Early Learning Center is the recipient of a grant for
$4,117.87 from the McHenry County Child Care Resource & Referral agency,
a division of Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C). The grant money is
earmarked for computer desks, a game table, tricycles, scooters and
helmets.

WCLS HOSTS ROTARY BREAKFAST AND
COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE

Rotarian Chris Cantwell has his blood drawn by Kelly Harper from
LifeSource
WCLS hosted the breakfast meeting of the Woodstock Morning Rotary
group. Speakers at the meeting included representatives from
LifeSource who talked about the need and importance of donating
blood. Immediately following the breakfast many of the meeting
attendees volunteered to donated blood.

WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD

WELC Students on "Crazy Hair
Day"
WELC students and staff
celebrate the Week of the Young Child, a week set aside to recognize
the needs of young children and thank teachers and other adults who
work to build better futures for all children. Festivities included
Crazy Hair Day, Hat Day, Funny Socks Day, and Pajama Day.

WELC RECEIVES DONATION OF NEW PLAYGROUND TABLES

Park & Recreation Supply / REIL Construction has donated three 46"
tables for the new playgound at WELC. Known as TEAM REIL, they are the
firm that designed and installed our playground equipment and play
surface. Additionally TEAM REIL was a golden sponsor at the recent
Little Hands, Big Dreams fundraising event. Words cannot express how
grateful we are for their generosity.
