Hearthstone Manor Resident Celebrates 100th
Birthday

Ed Carey recently celebrated his 100th birthday
with family and friends here at Hearthstone Manor.
Born February 12, 1909, Mr. Carey was raised in Northern
Illinois before moving to San Antonio, Texas in 1940. He
moved back to the area seven years ago. For his birthday
celebration, Mr. Carey’s niece and sister brought a cake to
Hearthstone Manor and shared it with staff and many friends.
Lester Bacon of the Elks Lodge was on hand to honor Mr.
Carey, a veteran of World War II. |

Receives Winter Clothing Donation

WELC recently
received a large donation of winter coats, hats and gloves
from the United Way of McHenry County. The donation came
from Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano in Algonquin from their
New Year’s Eve Party. Many thanks to Biaggi's and the
United Way. WELC is a partner agency of the United Way
of McHenry County.

Hearthstone Early Learning Center Christmas Program
The children of the WELC recently
shared the spirit of Christmas with family and friends at their
annual Christmas Program. The children enjoyed retelling the
story of the birth of Jesus through song, dance and readings.
