Hearthstone Manor Says “Go Cubbies!”
In July
2007, 30 residents of Hearthstone Manor Rehabilitative and Nursing
Care attended the Chicago Cubs game against the San Francisco
Giants. The Cubs won 12-2! It was a long day, but was an adventure
the residents enjoyed thoroughly. Go Cubbies!!

Artist Marcy Calkins and her father

Artist Marcy Calkins recently painted a
picture depicting the entrance to Hearthstone Manor where her father
and mother-in-law reside. Marcy
generously gave the painting to WCLS and it graces the lobby at
Hearthstone Manor.
Vacation Bible School

Preschoolers
from
Woodstock Early Learning Center
enjoyed a week of Vacation Bible School hosted by the Free
Methodist Church in Woodstock. More
than 45 church members volunteered their
time and
creativity to coordinate a week of songs, stories, crafts and
games to the children attending the wild west themed program
called, “Avalanche Ranch.” “Nearly 65 children from our early
learning center participated in this wonderful VBS program. It
was definitely a smash hit!” says JoAnne Fries, director of WELC.

8th Annual Hearthstone Senior Fair a Success!

Borderline, a barbershop quartet
from the Country Gentlemen,
entertained guests at the
Hearthstone Senior Fair.
Once again more than 2,000 people flocked to McHenry County College to attend the 8th annual Hearthstone
Senior Fair! Many came to listen and dance to the Vito Buffalo
Orchestra while others enjoyed bingo and people watching. The Borderline Barbershop Quartet strolled
throughout the fair entertaining everyone with their a capella favorites. Attendees strolled through the
gymnasium gathering senior targeted tips and information from over 100 exhibitors who participated in the
expo.
